  • Coming Soon How it all ties Together! Search Engine Optimization

Optimisizing your website for the search engines is the next step after successfully completing search engine submissions. Many websites are already indexed but still fail to appear within the top results due to a lack of proper optimization efforts.  It should be a given that your website appears when searching for your company name. However, these are people who obviously already know about you. The real benefit is when your website appears at the top for generic search terms that describe your products and services.

There are many different elements that should be considered when optimizing a website for greater search engine exposure, such elements are:
    On Page Optimization:
    • Meta Data: Meta data is information that is found within each web page. The main meta data fields used are page title, description and keywords.
    • Page Copy: How copy is written for your website can also affect the performance of your site within search engines, this includes headings and formatting.
    • Internal Linking: Linking is the action where by one page is linked via either text or an image to another page within your website.
    • Coding: How a web page is built can considerably affect how it performs within the search engines.
    • Navigation: This will determine if search engines can access all the pages within your site and more so, how effectively.www.addme.com

Essential SEO: How to optimize your site structure

Keyword research can do more than find you profitable keywords to target. With Wordtracker’s Keywords Tool you can also plan a site structure optimized for search engines. In an extract from his book, Wordtracker Masterclass: Keyword Research, Mark Nunney explains how.

  • Google Sandbox How to use it to your advantage!

Google will deny that they sandbox new websites. Yet, webmasters and SEO gurus alike have been frustrated to no end by the sandbox effect noted when a new website is launched. Google does acknowledge that there may be something in the algorithm that penalizes new websites and gives them lower rankings until they have proven their value. The reasons for such a filter are many and include keeping people from putting up multiple sites with links to one another when one website is what they need. Whatever the reasons behind ending up there, time spent in the Google Sandbox is still important to success.  Whether it was a conscious decision on the part of Google owners or not, they have written into the algorithm a set of filters that manage to establish the quality of a website using time-based indicators. These indicators include the age of the web site or domain, the age of different backlinks and inbound links to the site, and other factors. One important feature to note is that not only new sites are found in the sandbox. Older sites that suddenly get a rush of inbound links are often sandboxed while the value of the links is established.
With these points in mind, many who have paid for SEO services and still ended up in Google Sandbox are wondering what they can do to get out. Sadly, the only true way to climb out is to be patient. Time is actually on the side of those who are in the sandbox. There are several reasons for this.

The first reason is that time spent in the sandbox allows the website owner to work on tweaking any problem that is found with the site so that it is 100 percent ready when page rank climbs to a point where new visitors are coming in large numbers. This is the best time to test and fix any programming errors noted.
The second reason is that it allows you to work on the content of your site and any related sites linked to it. On the internet, content is king and Google is no different on that score. New, keyword optimized content appearing regularly with links that go back to a site that has been sandboxed catch attention and increase the odds of getting out sooner. Of course, these links must be relevant to the material on the website to be of any real value.  It gives webmasters time to establish relationships with others that are considered authorities in their fields. These authorities can include links to a site in their own pages. If these individuals are recognized as authorities in their fields, the value of their links increases dramatically.

    Priority submit Search Engine Traffic

Trust is an important part of any business relationship. There are some sites on the internet that are trusted more than others. Links from these sites are seen as more trustworthy by the search engine, and can help boost page rank quickly.  Ideally, you should try for a trifecta by seeking out relevant links from sites owned by recognized authorities in the field who have been deemed trustworthy by Google and users doing business with them. These links can combine in an exponential manner to boost a page ranking significantly regardless of the page’s age.
Another trick to consider is not limiting yourself to Google when performing SEO operations. One can be in the Google Sandbox and still get good organic results on other search engines such as Yahoo or Ask Jeeves.  You can also optimize for more long tailed keyword phrases. The sandbox effect only seems to affect sites that use highly competitive keywords. Therefore, if you sell an item that can be described in the keywords, the longer keyword phrases may help increase page rank. Of course, you must choose keywords that users are likely to type into the search engine.
In a nutshell, to take advantage of these time-based indicators, you should:

    * Get links that deliver the most trust, first.

    * Start your website today and also begin your link-building task as well

    * Target quality 4-in-1 links. This means going for links that are Relevant, Authoritative, from Trusted sources and from High page rank pages.

The Google Sandbox is real, despite denials from Google. These filters are part of the algorithm that assigns page ranks and they do penalize new sites that use competitive keywords. They also penalize established sites that enter into link farming agreements and try to manipulate the rankings artificially. The filters are age related for the age of the domain, the age of the links to the pages, and other factors.

The time spent in the Google Sandbox is important for the success of any web based business. To be more precise, what is done during this time is important. This is an opportunity to work out any bugs in your website that could hurt business. It is also an opportunity to establish high quality relationships with other site owners who can provide links to your site that are relevant, authoritative, from trusted sources, and coming from pages that are ranked highly, allowing you to take advantage of their rank until your own comes into being.

Where to Use Keywords For Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Keywords are, simply put, the SEO fuel. All the efforts put in to fine-tune your website for top rankings on Search Engines will not pay-off if the targeted keyword is not right. The key here is to use most relevant and important keywords in different parts of the website. Instead of using all keywords at once, it is advisable to use the keywords in several portions on your website. Higher relevance is given to certain areas of the HTML documents by various search engines.

Choosing the right keyword is the first and the most critical step of any SEO Campaign.

Following are the Best Practices for how to use your keywords:

In the TITLE tag – Search results always shows the title tag as your page title. The Title must be short and precise, say 6-12 words. The Keyword can be anywhere in the tag but preferably near the beginning.

In anchor text – Anchor text with keyword focus from external links is an important factor. Inbound links are considered positive not only for the site but for the keyword as well.

In headings – The Keywords placed on the heading in H1 is an important factor but the page should have actual text relevant to the keyword. Try to keep the heading precise (7-10 words). It is good to have the keyword as the first word of the heading.

In Domain Name – Domain names incorporating vital keywords is a very important factor.

In URL – Helps a lot to rank well but keyword should be in the other parts of the document. It should not be over optimized else you might be penalized.

Density – It is a measure to check the relevance of the web content. Keep less than 10% keyword density. Upto 7-8% for targeted 2-3 keywords and 1-2% for minor or secondary keywords on a page.

In the beginning of the document – It is a good practice to have the keyword in first 25-50 words of the document. Be it a table or a paragraph, try to keep it in the beginning of the document.

In Alt Tags – Label images on your page with ALT/TITLE tag filled with some keywords as spiders do read these tags.

  • Everything You Ever Wanted To know About Links! Next Blog!

    Linking Simply Can’t Be Ignored

It’s a proven fact: link building is absolutely vital to creating a thriving, cash-generating website today.

Why? Because Google and most other search engines reward sites with quality inbound links by placing them higher up in search engine listings – and that means more traffic, more customers and more revenue for your business.  Better yet, a sound linking strategy is a gift that keeps on giving. Unlike advertising, your links don’t simply disappear after a certain period of time. Rather, the links you establish remain there indefinitely and continue to influence your search engine rankings, day after day, month after month!

The truth is that marketers who turn their backs on link building are destined to spin their wheels in cyberspace, while those who embrace it will propel their websites into a new realm of profitability. A hyperlink has an anchor, which is a location within a document from which the hyperlink can be followed; that document is known as its source document. The target of a hyperlink is the document, or location within a document, that the hyperlink leads to. The user can follow the link when its anchor is shown by activating it in some way (often, by touching it or clicking on it with a pointing device). Following has the effect of displaying its target, often with its context.
In some hypertext, hyperlinks can be bidirectional: they can be followed in two directions, so both points act as anchors and as targets. More complex arrangements exist, such as many-to-many links.A few years back, it used to be that a polite email would set you off on your link building. Often it was the email equivalent of a ‘cold call’ – you had no contact with and you probably didn’t know too much about the person you were targeting. It is not websites that give you links, but the people who are behind them that decide that you’re worth the effort and go ahead and give you that link.

Today on a web dominated by social media, we don’t have to. Indeed, you need never make a ‘cold call’ link request again. Through effective use of social media we can get to know people before we make a link request. And that’s the vital ingredient – getting to know the person behind the site you want to approach. Social media makes it really easy. spend time getting to know the people who could give you the links you’re after. More to come….. Links the Good the Bad and the Ugly……..The business benefits of a solid linking strategy are abundantly clear. Still, the phrase ‘link building’ is enough to strike fear in the hearts of even the most seasoned online marketers.

The process of sending out link requests can be tedious and time-consuming, requiring you to find target websites, assess their quality, identify the right contact person and send them a customized link request. And even at that, you’d be fortunate to receive a 10% response rate.
What’s more, trying to separate quality sites from worthless ones is no easy task. If you don’t know what makes for a link worthy site, your efforts could very well be a waste of time. And you have better things to do. Next section, who should we have linking into out site and how do we know that they are worthy? What is a Good link and Bad link and just an Ugly link?

  • So What is an SEO Friendly Website?

Hello everyone and welcome to September, what we over here at Nexonta Technologies Inc consider to be the beginning of the business cycle right up until June of 2011 when things start to slow down again for the summer. This blog is to put certain conflicting facts about why it is important to have an SEO friendly website right from the design stage all the way to the site launch. For many years now very good web designers have been creating beautiful websites which look fantastic once you click onto the website. The only problem here is that they pay little or no attention to the coding on the back of the website or the Meta tags, Header tags or Title tags of each website or how clean the code is. This is how Google identifies your site and where to rank your site in the query results.

So traditionally websites have been acting like an online brochure for companies to direct visitors there so that potential customers could preview the company’s website to find out more information. Once these sites were developed, then the site owner after paying $2000.00 to $5000.00 for an esthetically pleasing site now has to contact an SEO company to make changes in the coding so that Google Bots can read it and add all of the different tags and write the content and images so that the site is user friendly and easy to navigate for the viewer. We do all of this before hand and so by the time that your site is fully finished it is fully ready to perform in all of the search engines thus this is an SEO friendly website.

At Nexonta we predominately use templates as the code is clean and our main goal at this point is to create content which is industry specific for each type of company as well to save on costs. The average consumer spends 30 to 60 seconds on a website browsing for what they are looking for and so there is really no need to spend $2000.00 to $3000.00 on a custom site today unless you are developing a website as part of a huge marketing campaign. Once again your site should be content driven, Clean coded, Well tagged and easy to navigate with one or two sections which can be updated on a regular basis. For example Blogging or a past projects module. At Nexonta Technologies Inc we view websites as marketing tools to get our clients exposure on the major search engines and so we focus on the bottom line. If you are interested in a designer website there are allot of great companies that can do a great job on a master peace of a site for your company however here at Nexonta Technologies Inc we charge $1000.00 for an SEO ready site with all of the fundamentals already built into the finished site. Further SEO can be discussed after words.

On a final note, SEO simply means the more competitive the industry that your company operates in the more Blogging, Updating, Posting, Adwords, Adsense etc that you have to spend on but if you are in a relatively stable industry then regular updates to your site will have you appearing great in the search results. • Third Quarter Here we go!

A season is a division of the year, marked by changes in weather, ecology, and hours of daylight.  Seasons result from the yearly revolution of the Earth around the Sun and the tilt of the Earth’s axis relative to the plane of revolution. In temperate and polar regions, the seasons are marked by changes in the intensity of sunlight that reaches the Earth’s surface, variations of which may cause animals to go into hibernation or to migrate, and plants to be dormant.

Alas the fall is finally here and I for one am very happy since it is my favorite time of the year. While it has been a bit challenging this summer ( Security wise ) things seemed to have calmed down over here at Nexonta Technologies Inc. I also felt it necessary to add a little tidbit about Internet Security. It is important that when you have an in house team or contract a third party to design or build any type of hosted application or client administration panel that once the job is completed make sure that all of your files are backed up and transferred onto your secure name server. (just because the file has your company name in it doesn’t mean that it is being hosted on your name server. Found that out) For the past 8 weeks we have had a breach in our admin panel security and while I was assured by my host company that my control panel and FTP login accounts were secure I kept having someone access my admin panel and client files costing our company allot in bottom line dollars. Finally we did some investigating and found out that the whole admin panel was sitting on the server of the programmer who built it for us and he was just helping himself to our company information.

A lesson learned. In most cases people don’t do this kind of thing however when you come across someone who lacks moral fiber then you better pay special attention to potential security breaches like this one. It was an expensive lesson and I do mean expensive however a good lesson to learn. I would also advise you to always have a back up of files for your applications as if you do encounter a situation with someone who is up to no good then you can protect your business from this type of tampering and theft.

On a lighter note the fall season is upon us and it is going to be a busy time as our business has already started becoming quite crazy( in a good way ) the last week of August is usually that week that we get our proverbial houses in order as kids go back to school and the movers and the shakers return from their yachts and the Hampton’s to start creating power deals to get the economy moving so that they may spend large at Christmas time. In many ways the fall is like the rebirth of business after a coma toast summer it is get up and get at it! For right now there is just Labor day weekend and then back to the hustle and bustle of the exciting third quarter. I love the fall it is like a crisp clean woodsy new page in the business cycle and a time for new beginnings. Have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend everyone and see you when you get back!

  • Coolest Tweet I found on Twitter!

    GET UP QUICK

Success is determined not by how few times you get knocked down, but by how quickly you get back up. In fact, those who achieve the most are those who have the most setbacks. You must make the attempt in order to achieve, and not every attempt is going to yield the intended results. Not by a long shot.

The setbacks are going to come. No matter what you’re working to achieve, there will be obstacles popping up to block your path. There will be disappointments big and small, on a regular basis.

But you never have to let them get the best of you. Though you won’t avoid getting knocked down, you can choose how quickly to get back up. So make the smart choice. Get up quick. Get going again. Get the disappointment behind you, where it belongs.

Wallowing in anger, resentment, self-pity and despair will only put you further behind. That’s not what you want. Let all that negativity go. Remind yourself of your purpose. Remind yourself of how much you want it, and why.

Get back up. Get back in the game. Get over it. Get going. And do it now. The faster you recover, the more successful you’ll be.

  • Blah, Blah, Blah, Blog!

Before I start this blog let me be clear! I am a finance major and so I deal in dollars and cents and I have spent the last 3 1/2 years building an internet marketing solutions company www.nexonta.com ( you pick up a few things along the way) and so while I am not a programmer I am able to look after your bottom line when it comes to IT and online advertising ( Which is a huge industry today ) while anyone will tell you however that the internet does not start and end with Google ( Allot of people will be shocked by that last comment ) it is fundamentally important to keep up on other aspects of IT and new trends in OP for you novice that does not mean “Ocean Pacific” it means operating systems and so I felt it important to write a techie blog just to show off my depth to which I study technology applications. Today’s lessons will focus on “Cloud Computing” and “Lamp stack” For all you laymen and laywomen out there the first one Cloud Computing just means a bunch of servers all working together to run your IT needs and the other “Lamp” just means free stuff (applications) swag when you buy Linux hosting but to show off our techie brilliance I will write Techie for those of you who read my blog if anyone does at this point!

CLOUD COMPUTING is the inter connectivity of computer servers is the first element of that characterizes cloud computing. This characteristic can enable the organization to carry out a variety of tasks in different locations. If there are issues with download capacity or virtual memory, then it allows for the specialization of different servers so that you can split the burden of the information technology activities. This is what good band width management is about. This option is quite useful if you do not have the resources or the capacity to provide your own in house infrastructure.
That way you could access the services without dealing with some of the challenges that come about when you are building infrastructure for cloud computing. Cloud computing advantage therefore cloud computing can facilitate the proper management of information technology resources within the organization. Some organizations have decided that the best option is to look for the cloud computing provider that specializes in platform. The platform allows you to carry out all the functionality that you would have done under the cloud computing system but then it gives you leeway in terms of undertaking the other activities. This option is excellent for those organizations which have the technical skills but require a platform to operate their cloud computing schemes. Google Apps is a prime example of this type of application service. This type of provision can be complemented by software services that give you the technological capacity to complete your operating system.

LAMP is an acronym for a solution stack of free, open source software, originally coined from the first letters of Linux (operating system), Apache HTTP Server, MySQL (database software), and PHP, principal components to build a viable general purpose web server.  The precise combination of software included in a LAMP package may vary, especially with respect to the web scripting software, as PHP may be replaced by Perl or Python. Similar terms exist for essentially the same software suite (AMP) running on other operating systems, such as MS Windows (WAMP), Mac OS (MAMP), Solaris (SAMP), or OpenBSD (OpAMP).

Though the original authors of these programs did not design them all to work specifically with each other, the development philosophy and tool sets are shared and were developed in close conjunction. The software combination has become popular because it is free of cost, open-source, and therefore easily adaptable, and because of the ubiquity of its components which are bundled with most current Linux distributions.

When used in combination they represent a solution stack of technologies that support application servers. Michael Kunze this German fellow coined the acronym LAMP in an article for the German computing magazine in April 1998. The article aimed to show that a bundle of free software could provide a viable alternative to commercial packages. Knowing the IT-world’s love of acronyms, Kunze came up with LAMP as a marketing-like term to increase the popularity of free software. O’Reilly and MySQL AB have made the term popular among English-speakers. Indeed, MySQL AB has since based some of its marketing efforts on the popularity of the LAMP stack.

So there you have it. I have just simplified a few really cool tech terms and so the next time you are in a board meeting and you want to impress the higher ups ( Only thing is it would help if you didn’t work in the tech department cause then you would be just being obnoxious) suggest cost cutting of your information technology needs by implementing a Cloud Computing system and I guarantee you that you will get that date with Julie from accounting and probably make VP by the end of the week!
